The Mont Blanc Tunnel will be closed this autumn for major renovation.
It’ll shut from 1st September to 12th December. This will allow almost 300 meters of the tunnel be worked on, as vital safety equipment needs to be replaced.
Autumn was chosen due to typically lower vehicle flow.
Heavy goods vehicles will be rerouted via the Fréjus tunnel, while cars can use Alpine passes like the Great St Bernard.
