Man considers jail by not paying 'unfair' parking fine

How far would you go not to pay a parking ticket?

David Lewis, who lives in Ferney Voltaire, is considering going to jail instead of paying a CHF 40 fine.

David says the fine is unfair as he was parked for less time than allowed – the problem is, he used an out-of-date French blue disc and not a Swiss or EU compliant one.

He points out that although the disc may have been an old model – it showed the correct time.

David has asked the court what he needs to do if he’d rather do the jail time than pay the fine – even so, he’ll still have to pay the court costs. He’s waiting to hear from them.
