Only 6% of Swiss residents say they would be willing to sell their car to fight climate change
A new ETH Zurich study surveyed nearly 2,800 people on which personal measures they would adopt to cut their greenhouse gas emissions by 30%.
Low-effort choices led the way: 58% opted for a heat pump, 54% for solar panels and 53% said they would lower their home heating.
More than a third said they would cut back on long-haul flights, surprising even the researchers.
Giving up the car entirely was rejected across income groups, with richer households slightly less likely to agree than poorer ones.
