There will be a festive spirit in Lausanne this year – but only for a more limited time.
The city has given the go ahead to the Christmas light show - but instead of its normal start date, which would have been last week, the lights will be switched on from the 1st December.
Then the lights will go out at 8pm and not the more traditional midnight.
There will also be more energy saving LED lights – the city hopes power consumption will be cut by 60% compared to previous years.
