A group of holiday home owners on the Simplon pass are scuppering plans by the army to expand a firing range.
The government has been trying to redevelop the range for the last 5 years. It’s one of the few places in the country that can be used to test and train on heavy artillery.
But the hut owners say the noise is too much and the natural landscape will be harmed.
The army will release new plans today which is hoped will allay the fears of the owners.
