The heavy rain the country has been experiencing recently is swelling lakes and rivers everywhere.
Federal authorities have issued the highest alert -a level 5 – for parts of Lake Constance.
In many areas the lake has burst its banks and people are being urged to stay away.
Firefighters are installing emergency inflatable dykes and sandbags in an effort to protect property, although many areas are already flooded - including car parks, jetties and restaurant terraces.
Authorities expect this is the peak and waters should start to fall back shortly.
