The Green Party is launching an initiative to demand that all new building have solar panels installed and existing buildings should have them within 15 years.
The party says the country has enough roofs that could cover its electricity needs with solar power – but only a tenth of the area is used.
It says after voters agreed to the domestic electricity law at the weekend, this is the next logical step.
It also points out, the supply would be clean and independent from autocratic states that supply the gas and oil.
