The cable car at the Glacier 3000 resort in Les Diablerets will be up and running in time for the start of the season.
A fire ravaged the restaurant that sits on top of the summit station earlier this month. The restaurant has been destroyed – and will be rebuilt next year. But engineers say the cable car terminus is safe and fully functioning.
The area needs extensive cleaning before it can reopen to the public – but it should be ready by November.
The resort is of vital importance to the local economy.
