Geneva is launching a new incentive programme to attract more film and television productions to the canton.
From September 1st, productions filming or carrying out post-production work in Geneva will be able to claim rebates of up to 30% on eligible local expenses, capped at half a million francs.
The canton is putting one million francs into the scheme this year, with authorities estimating that every franc invested could generate three-and-a-half francs in economic benefits.
The aim is to attract both Swiss and international productions, creating jobs and boosting Geneva’s position as a centre for the audiovisual industry.
