Cross border workers will be exempt from the new French requirement to show a negative Covid test to enter the country.
The first announcement from the French Prime Minister Jean Castex on Friday caused frontaliers to panic as it seemed they would need regular testing.
But authorities have clarified that anyone living within 30km of the border will be able to cross freely, or those working in Switzerland.
It also works the other way. Swiss residents can enter France to visit – but not further than 30 km from the border.
