Yesterday afternoon’s freezing rain caused several accidents around canton Vaud.
The cantonal police say there were around 40 crashes, mainly around Lausanne and Morges.
Fortunately, most were minor, but the rain turned the roads into ice rinks, say many of the victims.
The police say the weather closed in very quickly – which surprised drivers.
Forecasters say there remains a chance of more freezing rain today – and motorists are urged to be careful.
