The country’s biggest employers and trade unions have joined forces against Sunday's population cap initiative, branding it the "chaos initiative".
The Swiss People's Party proposal would keep the population below 10 million by 2050 and limit annual immigration to about 40,000.
HotellerieSuisse warns that more than half of hotel staff are foreign nationals, and medical technology firm Ypsomed says industry would be pushed to the back of the queue behind hospitals and care homes.
There are also fears the cap would jeopardise the free movement agreement with the EU
The country's largest union, Unia, warns the vote could open the door to wage dumping for all workers.
