Crypto investor steals millions from friends and family

A cryptocurrency advisor from Biel in canton Bern has vanished after raising about CHF 7m from friends and relatives.

The man started a company investing in cryptocurrencies. He approached investors and persuaded them of fantastic returns.

But he’s vanished, leaving behind a note where he admitted to an ‘unforgivable mistake’.

According to 20 Minutes, he was briefly traced to Brazil via the Strava fitness app before disappearing again.

Eleven complaints have now been filed.

The suspect’s current whereabouts remain unknown.
