A petition is calling for bars and restaurant in the city of Geneva to be allowed to play music during the month of December and allow more street entertainment.
Backers say it will create a more festive and friendly environment over the holiday period.
The city of Lausanne has just allowed the same. From the 20th November to December 31st, bars can play music up to 85 decibels – that’s about the same as a food blender.
But a spokesman for the city says a balance has to be found between entertainment and public tranquillity.
