Autumn officially started on Saturday – and on the same day some areas of canton Graubünden had a light dusting of snow down at 1,200 meters.
Across the Alps, snow fell is large areas at an altitude of 1,700 meters.
The highest village in the country, Juf in Graubünden, sits at 2,126 meters is now snow covered.
The motoring organisation, the TCS, is warning some high passes are now snow covered, such as the Ofen Pass.
