Pépinières Baudat's new Parc de Gilly
Dig It!

Pépinières Baudat has added something new to the Suisse Romande garden landscape: the Parc de Gilly, three years in the planning and, unusually for a nursery of this kind, open to the public.
Hester Macdonald is shown round by Mélanie Baudat, of the third generation of a family business founded in 1960 by her grandfather, who explains what visitors can expect on arrival, beginning with the greenhouse. The site sits just off the Geneva-Lausanne motorway, a short hop from the Rolle exit, and is clearly visible from the road, though the best view may be from the air: the park is laid out in the shape of a leaf, as passengers flying into Geneva along the lake can see for themselves.
