Tofu Skewers with Satay Sauce


  • 1 clove of garlic, pressed
  • 1 tbsp. peanut oil
  • 2 dl coconut milk
  • 2 shallot, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp. raw sugar
  • 2 tbsp. honey
  • 500 g tofu, plain, cut into 2-cm cubes
  • 4 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 80 g salted peanuts, finely chopped
  • 1.5 tbsp. light soy sauce
  • 1.5 red chilli, insides removed, finely chopped

Place the cubes of tofu on short wooden skewers. Combine the soy sauce and honey, coat the tofu with the mixture and marinate in the fridge for approx. 30 mins. Heat the oil in a frying pan, sauté the shallots and garlic, pour over the coconut milk and bring to the boil, then reduce the heat. Add the remaining ingredients, cover and leave the sauce to simmer for approx. 10 mins. Fry the tofu skewers in a little heated oil for approx. 4 mins. until golden-brown on all sides, and arrange on a plate. Serve with the sauce for dipping.
