Cheese Dishes: One-Pot Spaetzle

One-Pot Spaetzle


  • a little pepper
  • 1 dl full cream
  • 0.5 tsp. salt
  • clarified butter zum Braten
  • 300 g carrots, grob gerieben
  • 1 red onion, in Ringen
  • 500 g spätzle egg noodles (z. B. mit Spinat)
  • 100 g Gruyère cheese, grob gerieben
  • 1 bunch flat-leaf parsley, grob gehackt

Heat the butter in a non-stick frying pan, gently fry the onion rings over a medium heat for approx. 3 mins. until crisp, remove and set aside. Heat the butter in the same frying pan, add the carrots and Spaetzle noodles, stir-fry for approx. 5 mins. Reduce the heat, add the cream, season and simmer for about another 2 mins. Stir in the cheese and parsley and top with the reserved onion rings.
