National News // Oct. 19, 2020

The federal government announced a series of new rules and regulations yesterday all in an effort to bring the infection rate down – including a call to work from home if possible.

From now – everywhere in the country – you need to wear a mask in all public places.

This includes shops, museums, doctor waiting rooms, sports changing rooms and places of worship.

There are some different rules around schools, which can vary from canton to canton – but if in doubt, wear a mask.

Large gatherings are now highly restricted. No more than 100 people can meet privately, and will have to wear a mask while standing. All consumption of food and drink has to be seated and contact details must be taken from all those attending.

Also, no more than 15 people can meet spontaneously on the street.

In bars and restaurants, eating and drinking can only be done while seated.

And the government is urging all employers to allow staff to work from home once again if possible.
