Spike in infections leads to long queues at testing stations
The spike in the number of infections is causing problems at some testing stations. Many are complaining about long queues and poor social distancing controls.
Two of the worst hit are at the Zurich City Hospital and the Spenglerpark in canton Basel-Country.
One person in the queue told the Blick newspaper he only had to wait 15 minutes three weeks ago – now it’s two hours.
He was ordered to get tested as he was in contact with a confirmed case.
A spokesman for the Basel test centre says they are responding and bringing in more staff. It’s being pointed out the test itself is fast – it’s the paperwork that’s taking the time.
