Doctors across the country are preparing for a rush of people wanting Covid-19 tests.

With the end of summer, it will soon be the cold and flu season – and the symptoms can be similar.

In Sankt Gallen doctors say they will be recommending patients call first before going to the doctors’ offices in the case of mild symptoms. 

In Basel also, doctors are worried about overlapping symptoms and are expecting to carry out more testing. 

 The cantonal doctor, Thomas Steffen, says everyone needs to be reminded the best defense against coronavirus or colds and the flu is washing hands, maintaining social distancing and sneezing or coughing into the crook of your arm
