There are calls for the government to intervene and push through a single app to allow for easy contact tracing for those who go to restaurants, cinemas or sporting events.

Currently a mixture of apps or simple paper forms are being used.

Many are not filling out the forms properly – either illegibly or even with fake information.

The differences are making the work harder for cantons to track down those who could be at risk.

The Federal Health Office says it doesn’t want to get involved with making a choice on which app to recommend.

One of the most used is Mindful which has been adopted by sports clubs and McDonald’s in French speaking areas.

Even the burger chain – renowned for its consistency everywhere – hasn’t decided on a single app for the whole country.

The problem is likley to get worse as the 1,000 person limit for events will be lifted in about a month.
