Swiss economy expected to suffer less than others in Europe

The Swiss economy is expect to suffer less from the Covid-19 crisis than other countries in Europe.

That’s according to the KOF Swiss Economic Institute in Zurich which surveyed 4,500 firms. 
 
86% of companies believe their chance of survival is not at serious risk due to the pandemic. 
 
The country benefits from a diversified economy with sectors such as pharma and financial services faring better than others. 
 
Assuming no exponential surge in infections, GDP is predicted to fall by 4.9% - still less than half the rate of contraction predicted for France, Italy and Spain.
