Number of infections rising, federal and cantonal relationships strain
The number of new infections continue to climb. In the last 24 hours the Federal Health Office say there were 220 new cases.
That’s up from 192 cases the day before and 132 on Tuesday.
The rising infection rate is straining the relationship between the federal government and the cantons.
At a press conference yesterday, the head of the Federal Health Office, Pascal Strupler called on the cantons to bring in laws to make sure everyone has to wear a mask and to limit nightclub attendees to 100 people.
But a group of cantonal doctors issued a statement describing the current patchwork of rules as positive.
