New app may help Geneva nightclubs stay open and safe

National News // July 24, 2020

An app to help Geneva nightclubs stay open and customers to stay safe is now being backed by the canton.

It works differently from the track and trace app, but allows the cantonal doctor’s office to check who was in a nightclub at the same time as someone who may later test positve.

It also allows the clubs to make sure the customers give the right personal details when entering.

Use of the app raises hopes night clubs will be allowed to stay open if the infection rate rises.

While other cantons use a similar app, and some Geneva club goers have been using this for a while, it’s hoped the backing of the canton will mean more people will also download it.

It can be found on COGA.APP
