False alarm awakes town residents twice
The residents of Altdorf in canton Uri had their Sunday slumber disturbed by a false siren warning, twice.
The first time was at 2.30am when the klaxons sounded, triggering hundreds of calls to the police to find out what was happening.
But then at 10am, the sirens sounded again – this time due to a mistake by engineers trying to figure out the earlier false alarm.
Police say that at no time was the population in danger and the sirens are working properly again.
