Government recalls 13 million masks due to fungal infection
The government is recalling thousands of face masks distributed to the cantons as they may have a fungal infection.
The masks had been in storage for over 10 years. They had been released despite an expiry date being passed.
The Geneva University Hospital found a fungus in a test batch. Since all masks can’t be tested, they’re all being recalled.
In all, over 13 million masks were handed out. They will be replaced free of charge.
