Mandatory masks for all public transport users begins today
From today, all public transport users will have to wear a mask.
While the new rules don’t allow fining those not complying, they can be asked to get off the vehicle at the next stop.
The government was compelled to act as their requests were not being followed. Surveys are showing only a small proportion wore masks.
Everyone over the age of 12 has to wear a mask on all trains, buses, trams and cable cars. The move brings Switzerland into line with neighbouring countries.
