The Federal Health Office says 137 new infections have been reported – more than double the previous day.

Over the past week, that makes a total of 437.

The last time more than 100 new infections were reported in a single day was back on May 2nd, with 112.

Epidemiologist Andreas Cerny told the Blick newspaper the ‘second wave is here’. He says he expects the number of daily infections to breach 200 in the next few days.

He says more people should wear a mask, as it can cut transmission rates by as much as 80%.
