Concern over social distancing rules for older students
Education authorities across the country are concerned that if the government doesn’t change its social distancing rules, schools for older students may not be able to open in September.
Younger children are exempt as the government acknowledges it will be hard to explain the problem to them – but it applies to anyone over 15.
Education directors from various cantons have written to Bern to allow schools to operate on the same basis as other sectors.
The distance has now been cut to 1.5 meters, and in cinemas and theatres it’s been decided that just one seat gap would be sufficient.
