Swisscom investigating major network disruption yesterday
Phone operator Swisscom says it still doesn’t know what caused a massive disruption to its network yesterday.
All areas of the country were affected. The first problems were reported just before midday – and it didn’t return to normal until about 3pm.
Users were even unable to make emergency calls in some areas.
The problems weren’t limited to mobiles – some business numbers were also affected.
Swisscom says the network is being closely monitored and the reason for its failure is being investigated.
It’s not the first time Swisscom has had problems this year. Two major outages in January and February this year prompted the Federal Office of Communications to launch an investigation.
