Number of people testing positive for coronavirus increases for second day
For the second day in a row the number of people who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus is up. In the last 24 hours 66 people have the disease, yesterday it was 51.
The number of people who have died now stands at 1,518.
Ahead of further lockdown easing due on Monday, Zurich public transport is recommending people should wear masks but it won’t be compulsory nor will there be so called ‘mask police’ checking, according to the Zurich transport association.
The Zurich economics minister, Carmen Walker-Späh, is calling for companies to allow staggered working hours from Monday to cut the number of people on trams and buses at the same time.
In Geneva, the public transport company – the TPG – says from Monday timetables will be very close to normal with 90% of services running. Some seats will be sealed off to maintain social distancing and passengers are encouraged to wear masks. Like in Zurich, commuters are asked to avoid rush hour if possible.
