Geneva winegrowers fly in workers for the harvest
Geneva winegrowers are flying in workers to help with the harvest.
The current travel restrictions mean it’s hard for seasonal workers to make their own way to the country.
The association Agri-Genève has chartered one flight from Portugal which landed on Monday with 141 workers on board.
Three more flights are planned between June and July. In all 363 workers will be flown in.
The head of SWISS International Airlines in French speaking Switzerland, Lorenzo Stoll, says it’s essential the company continues to connect Switzerland with the world and contribute to the local economy.
