1,766 people have died.

Those living mainly around the Lake Geneva region delivered a petition to Bern yesterday calling for a more humanitarian restart of the economy.

Many people clapped and banged pots and pans from their balcony yesterday afternoon in support of the petition as they are unable to travel to the capital.

It says the post-virus economy should be more focused on environmental protection and support local agricultural producers and entrepreneurs.

It’s also demanding better conditions for care workers.

Nearly 53,000 signed the petition.
