Paramedic petitions to allow cross-border parental visits
A paramedic in Switzerland is launching a petition to allow separated parents to visit their children if they’re outside the country.
Under the current lockdown – there’s no exception for parents.
38-year-old Maik Riedl works in canton Aargau – his ex-wife and 11 year old daughter live nearby, but in Germany.
Riedl was fined CHF 100 on re-entering Switzerland as border guards didn’t consider visiting his daughter as a good enough reason to leave the country.
Riedl is being backed by his ex, and says it’s unreasonable to separate parents from their children.
