Private medical company releases supply of face masks
A large supply of protective face masks has been released by a private medical company Spiez - despite being past their expiry date.
The Spiez Laboratory has released 10 million unused masks to be distributed by the army’s pharmacy.
The Federal Office for Civil Protection says the supply will alleviate bottlenecks in the system.
Officials have also asked members of the public to donate spare masks to local nursing homes.
