Neighbouring France to get back Swiss TV
TV viewers in neighbouring France around Geneva will get Swiss television back on over-the-air transmitters by the end of March.
The transmitters which covered local French areas were switched off in June as part of Switzerland’s digital migration programme. But that meant thousands of viewers who live in France couldn’t watch Swiss TV.
A new solution using masts on the Salève and La Dôle will mean RTS 1 and 2 will return. But some may have to upgrade their receivers.
The signal has been guaranteed for at least three years – then it’s hoped a more permanent solution will be found.
