Village evacuated after kilo of explosives found
More than 60 people had to be evacuated from the village of Presinge in canton Geneva as the bomb squad destroyed a kilo of explosive found on a farm.
Police say it was Cheddite – an explosive sometimes used by farmers, normally for destroying tree stumps.
It was so old, it was considered unstable.
Local roads were closed and fire teams and ambulances stood ready as the compound was destroyed in a controlled explosion.
No one was hurt.
