Passengers praise Léman Express on launch day
The new Léman Express train network launched yesterday.
Thousands took the opportunity to try out the new trains which run from Geneva to Vaud and neighbouring France.
But strike action by French rail workers meant only half the trains were running in France.
That glitch though didn’t dampen the enthusiasm. The trains were full and passengers were full of praise for the new system which has been eight years in the making.
The restricted French service will be the same today.
All commuters are being urged to check timetables as today sees the start of new and extended bus lines.
