Lausanne to cut speed to cut noise
The city of Lausanne is to bring in lower overnight speed limits in many residential areas in an effort to cut noise pollution.
The move comes after a two-year trial period which showed when the limit is 30 kph instead of 50, noise is down by around 3db.
The city says most of the locals are in favour of the new limit.
The issue of noise pollution is becoming more urgent as its been shown to lead to health problems including depression and high blood pressure.
