Fare dodgers to be placed on national list
Those who regularly dodge fares on public transport will soon find themselves on a national list and their fines will increase.

The database started in April and by the end of the year more than 100 companies will be participating.
The next city joining will be Bern next month.
The blacklist will allow transport companies to take into account the dodger’s history before issuing a fine.
In Bern – for example - first offence is CHF 100 fine – then moving up to CHF 170 fine for the third offence. Now all cases of dodging anywhere in the country can be taken into account.
In most cantons, being caught more than three times in two years will likely mean a meeting with a judge.
