Police discover 21 cats in Thurgau man's freezer
Police in canton Thurgau have made a grim discovery – 21 dead cats in a freezer.
The police raided the private premises yesterday as neighbours had complained of aggressive dogs.
They also found several animals in a poor state of health, including 18 cats, 2 dogs, 4 rabbits, seven chickens and 4 gerbils.
The dead animals were in a freezer, which was also used to store food. Three other dead cats were in a shed.
The owner has had past issues with authorities about animal care and was already banned from breeding them. He now faces a life time animal ban.
