Swiss film star death captivates nation
The weekend’s press focused heavily on the death of the Swiss actor Bruno Ganz.

Many headlines labelled Ganz as one of Swiss cinema's biggest stars.
Probably best known for playing Hitler in the film Downfall, he also became an unintended internet star. The famous scene with Hitler in the bunker realizing the war was lost was parodied many times with subtitles referring to sporting upsets or political mishaps.
He also played an angel in the 1987 film Wings of Desire.
He had roles in English language films such as The Boys from Brazil, The Manchurian Candidate and The Reader.
Ganz lived in his home town of Zurich and was often seen on the street.
He was 77.
