A Facebook post by a young apprentice in Sankt Gallen cost him CHF 850.

The 18-year-old was waiting on the street to meet some friends and spotted a police traffic control.

He simply posted a warning about it on his newsfeed. A few hours later he was called to the police station and was told warning people about speed checks is an offence and was fined.

The amount is more than his monthly apprenticeship wage, he says its completely disproportionate.

But the law is clear, since 2013 it is illegal to warn road users of controls.
