Zurich police dogs issued with hot weather boots
The Zurich cantonal vet office is warning dog owners to be careful of very hot pavements. They advise the owners to place the back of their hand on the ground for 5 seconds. If it’s too hot to keep it there – then its too hot for your dog to walk on.
Zurich City Police has posted pictures of their service dogs wearing protective shoes on their paws. The force points out, with air temperatures above 30 – it’s possible the ground can reach as much as 55 degrees.
Also, cantonal vets say walk your dog in shaded areas and make sure it has enough to drink.
Surely, we don’t need to mention cars any more…
