Dog blamed for sheep train deaths
An out of control dog is being blamed for the deaths of 49 sheep after they were hit by a train being operated by Swiss Federal railways in Germany on Wednesday morning.
The train was running along Lake Constance and heading for the border when the accident happened. A flock of 450 sheep had broken out of their enclosure and were on the tracks.
The farmer, 36 year old Michael Thonnet, says he believes the animals had been frightened by a dog.
The train was damaged in the accident and the line closed for several hours. No one was hurt.
