Police search for owners of abandoned rabbits
Bern police are searching for people who abandoned two domesticated rabbits in a forest near the town of Studen.
The dwarf rabbits were left with their hutch and a small toy tunnel. The police, with the help of passers-by, were able to catch the animals and took them to a shelter.
The rabbits were bred in captivity and would not have been able to survive in the wild.
The police say leaving the animals to fend for themselves is against cruelty laws and they will press charges if those responsible can be found.
