Nesting Swans have eggs smashed in canton Bern
Residents of a town on Lake Thun are outraged that a pair of nesting swans have been scared away and their eggs smashed.
In Faulensee the pair – called Frieda and Fridolin – have been nesting in the same spot for years – and now they’re nowhere to be seen. Only their broken eggs remain.
Locals told the press they believe the birds were frightened off by someone throwing stones before breaking the eggs.
It’s thought doubtful the swans will return next season.
