Geneva cable car project a step closer
The plan for a major cable car transport system in Geneva has taken a step further – and been extended.
The cantonal government is proposing a new route running from the border at Bardonnex right to the airport.
The extension to the original idea now makes the whole system 12 kilometers long.
Parking is the main reason. There are hopes the company that runs the French autoroute heading to Bardonnex may build a car park which will allow drivers to take the cable car into the city or directly to the airport.
If all goes well, work could start within a year.
