National News // Aug. 10, 2017

Lausanne police are trying to track down the owners of a UK registered car which has been left abandoned on the Quais d’Ouchy for the past two weeks.

The licence plate is still in place – and police have contacted UK authorities to track down the owner. But the car was recently bought and the new owner didn’t complete the required forms.

It’s thought the car was part of a race across Europe called the ‘Scumball Rally’.

It had a hashtag on the back, with a meaningless French phrase made famous by the TV sitcom ‘Only Fools and Horses’ and a picture of the notorious British radio DJ and pedophile, Jimmy Saville.

Whoever left the car clearly wasn’t expecting it back as they’d left the keys in the ignition.

It’s now in the police pound.
